Heroine
The cabaret with The Loveys.
Friday 24th January, 2025.
Packed full of original songs and wry stories, HEROINE the Cabaret explores the truth of middle-aged life – from divorce, dementia, septuagenarian sex to the ordinary business of love itself.
The Loveys explore the courage it takes to accept a call to go on the heroine’s journey. Many women hover over the threshold, waffling about whether to make the leap or not. It’s the Loveys’ mission is to make sure real-life heroines know they’re not alone; to liberate and inspire women of any age to follow their dreams and live their most creative lives! Menopause be damned, say The Loveys – it’s never too late to live the rich and juicy life we all deserve.
Starting their career on the streets in 2015, busking in front of the local supermarket and at local farmer’s markets, The Loveys have built a loyal following across the region and further afield. We are proud to celebrate our tenth anniversary in 2025 – now that’s heroic!
The award-winning group has played at most of the major folk festivals in Australia, including Woodford, Bello Winter Music Festival, Nanga and Nannup in W.A, Blue Mountains Folk Festival as well numerous regional ukulele festivals and sell out concerts in their home shire of Byron Bay NSW.
The four women in The Loveys love connecting with the audience through their banter, and mad spontaneous humour. Jenny, Janet, Belinda and Pamela bring elegance, sharp wit and moments of hilarity to their performances, with gorgeous four-part harmonies, accompanied by piano, bass, ukulele and drums, and the occasional and unexpected bassoon and melodica.
The Loveys are: Belinda Eadsforth – ukulele, drums * Pamelah Freeman – bass guitar * Jennifer Parenteau – ukulele * Janet Swain – keyboard, bassoon. Tickets will be onsale soon. Check the Lovey’s website by clicking button below.
